was it the homeruns, the pitching, or the fact that i obviously must be lady luck?

not sure, but ladies and gentlemen, lucky i am. remember yesterday? my excitement and hopes about the red sox securing a post season spot on the night that i would be in attendance? IT HAPPENED. and it was beautiful. gosh. i am speechless still. its really something to witness an event like this on the tv, but the act of actually being present, being part of it, is so very different.

there have been so many occasions in which i was sooooo very close to being part of red sox history. for example, i bought nic and i tickets to game 2 at fenway park. i tried as hard i could to get game 1 tickets, but i, unfortunately was not able to secure them. however, nic’s roommate seemed to be able to get game 1 tickets, and that being said, nic was able to attend game 1 and watch the 2007 world series banner be dropped- while i sat and watched it at home. the tickets i sold to the game in may were for the lester no hitter- i sat and watched it at pub 99 instead. and that's just two examples from this year... there were many many more throughout the years.

guess what? i can no longer complain. you know why folks? because michaela and i were in attendance for the 9/23/08 red sox –vs- cleveland indians game at fenway park. yes, we were there with the gorgeous, married, lawyer to be, the idiot drunk 19 year old who was very lucky that his face never met my fist (there was no way to nicely state that- sorry!), a broken camera, drunken- rubbing it in- phone calls, dancing in the bleachers, the nice couple, or were they brother and sister?, celebrating, etc.

could there be anything more beautiful than watching the final pitch/fly ball being caught? the team celebrating? the crowd celebrating? nope, i don’t think so.
