got spoons?

grace number fifty seven
today i am grateful for those who have to go through something that no one else in their life understands. the following is an essay by christine miserandino about how she tries to explain what it is like to live with lupus. i relate to a lot of what she says, so this is a powerful message for me. i went for another blood test today to see if i actually have lupus or some other autoimmune disease. obviously the verdict is still out, but i should find out for sure this coming week. so lets all keep our fingers crossed. but at the same time, lets all be thankful for our health, and understand that sometimes, even if people don't look sick, they might be feeling kind of awful inside. so lets be empathetic.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the tests come back alright. On the other hand, it is nice to know what the problem is. It is good to have a name for it, that way a person can be pro-active and do the right things to affect the condition in a positive way. For years my daughter had problems. Finally, she was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylosis. Now her physician knows what to watch out for and she understands what is going on in her body. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgea. While it is not so serious as Lupis (it does not threaten my life), it does cause me a lot of grief at times. It is hard at times because I don't look like there is anything wrong so people expect me to be able to do all that I do when I am feeling alright. I have a friend with Lupis. For the most part, she does alright. She works a full time job. I don't know how she does it. She is a very determined person.
