grace in small things #205
i can't even tell you how excited i am to have found this.
this is one of my favorite childhood shows. and i could never remember what it was. when people would talk about tv shows growing up i would be like "what was the show with the bat, and they always had a huge picnic and someone on the show loved peanut butter and there were creatures who swam in the sewer..." and people would look at me like i was a psycho!
but i finally found it and i am so gosh darn happy :)

good times never seemed so good! SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!
grace in small things number 204-
today i am so damn happy to be at the red sox game with the future mrs. garcia so that we can sing sweet caroline TOGETHER. we've had a tradition since 2007 that i call her at EVERY game i have ever been to (except the one i went to with my grandfather, because we left much too early &i didn't hear the song) &we sing sweet caroline over the phone.... EVERY TIME. i've woken her up, i've called her on dates, i've left voicemails if needed.
but tonight will be momentous, because not only is it only the second time that mrs. garcia had ever been to fenway park.....but it was the first time we will be able to sing sweet caroline TOGETHER! so excited! can't wait. hopefully more pictures later!

g.i.s.t. # 199
today i am extremely excited because....drum roll please...
i bought tickets to the ALDS...
but there are a lot of factors in this situation.
one, the red sox need to make it into the playoffs.
two, there needs to be a third game played at fenway park during the ALDS.
and then... if that is the case, then i will be attending a game at fenway park.
god, i love the post-season :)

Today I am grateful that....
So far no one has ruined the surprise of what happened in the grey's season premier for me.
That as of 12pm I will have the chance to purchase ALDS tickets if the socks make post season
That I went out with the future mrs. Garcia tHis evening for a little panera and wedding planning.
That I am doing a kick ass job on a book we are making as a present for someone at work.
That I just watched 2 episodes of grey's (from last season) I had never seen before... And cried right through them lol.

grace #193
i'm crabby today.
my jaw really hurts.
today i'm grateful for my mom who really has been a "co-parent" of fenway since i moved back to the area. i'm glad she takes such good care of my dog, even if she feels the need to yell at me all the time for being such a bad dog owner. ugh. parents. but seriously. i'm glad i have her help.

Grace #191
Today I didn’t go out after work. I went home, threw on some jammies and jumped in bed with a book. I just picked up a copy of “time traveler’s wife” and I am completely entranced with this book. Y’all should go pick it up. I’m very glad that I got to read the book before I could watch the movie. Okay enough typing. I need to get back to the book I’ve got about 40 more pages to go!

grace in small things day number 190
today is a very special day and i have something very blog-oriented to be thankful for.
it is my very first blogoversary...EVER!
i am shocked that i began this blog exactly one year ago today.
i'm shocked that i've not only maintained this blog, but grew it to what it is and grew along with it.
i honestly think so much wonderful has come from this blog.
i have made so many amazing friends from 20SB or through other people's blogs or just coincidence.
i am truly a better person because of some of my blog friends.
and my 101 in 1001 project? i would have never done that if i hadn't gotten involved with the blogging community.
and i LOVE my 101 in 1001 project.
and grace in small things?
the fact that i am on day 191 of gratefulness is quite amazing to me.
(yes, i know i majorly need to update the blog with the missing days- i've had funky internet access)
i didn't trust myself and never thought this was possible.
but i am on day 191.
how cool is that?
so today...today i am uber grateful for my first ever blogoversary.
and i hope there will be many more to come.

Today I am going to keep it short and sweet.
I’m thankful for my best friend’s little sister.
I call her Kit Kat.
Its her birthday today.
I kind of feel like she is my little sis too kind of.
So…I’m happy she is in my life, and happy to celebrate her day.

Grace in small things # one hundred and eighty seven.
Today I am thankful for magnetic stud earrings.
Yes, you read that correctly.
I used to LOVE those damn thigns when I was a kid. I felt like I was SO damn cool when I wore them. I don’t remember when I got my ears pierced, but I had magnetic earrings for a while. I remember losing them once in a friends backyard. I was horrified. I was like 5. ha. But accessories were important to me back then I guess.
Isn’t it magnificent how such small things were so important to us as kids. How much magnetic earrings meant to me? And still do, in all honesty. I think of them and I think of childhood. Of fun times. I feel like rushing out right this second and getting me a new pair. Wait, do they sell those things anymore?

today i am pretty darn grateful for my dinner.
it was wonderful.
one of my birthday presents from my grandparent's was a 3.5 pound lobster.
i really like lobster.
it might have been my best birthday present.
anyway, here's the beauty.
could i really ask for any more?

gist # 184
today i am thankful for...
the flu shot i got yesterday.
and the fact it was for free.
the fact that it is friday. i didn't work on mon or tues, so it doesn't feel like a friday.
that i got paid today from job #2. time to pay the bills.
and that i plan on taking a nice long nap when i get home from work!
oh, and i also want to honor the day.
it has been eight years since the september 11th attacks.
i cannot believe it has been so long.
i can barely even remember the feelings i felt.
i just want everyone to take a minute and remember the patriotism they felt at that time.
we all need to step back for a moment and thank our soldiers for putting themselves in danger to protect everything we stand for.
we also need to take a second and think about those who survived the attacks and those who lost their loved ones eight years ago today.
i was humbled and i still am by this moment in history.

grace in small things number one hundred and eighty three
today is a pretty big day in my personal GIST history...
i'm over the half way mark for my project.
i vowed to do this for one year.
write down what i am grateful for every single day from march 12, 2009 until march 12, 2010.
when you divide 365 in half, you get 182.5 so at some point between yesterday and today... this project moved to its second half. now i'm slowing heading downhill...towards the finish line.
i can't even believe i am here.
this project has changed my life in more than one way.
i'm highly touched to be here at this twist in the road in my life, with gratitude.

grace in small things number one hundred and eighty two
today i am super thankful for the red sox game i went to last night.
i'm glad amy drove there and back because i was pretty exhausted.
i loved my fenway frank, beer and fried dough.
i thought it was awesome one of the home run balls landed in my row, even if it wasn't close enough to try and catch.
and all in all, i'm pretty darn glad for the entire night.

Grace # 181
Today I am thankful for the entire day.
I am excited about going to the zoo with my sister-in-law, my niece and my nephew this afternoon. I’m so damn grateful that I don’t have to work today. I wasn’t ready to go back to work yet. I’m thankful that I am going to go to the red sox tonight! How damn cool is that. my mother bought the tickets for me in January so that I could go to fenway to celebrate my birthday! I’m so damn happy to have been “reunited” with my puppy yesterday. I missed her terribly.

Well, the vacation has ended. Unfortunately. It is always incredibly hard to leave my friends in Virginia. They are such incredible people and I wish they could be in my life on a daily basis. So today… I am grateful for such amazing friends who got out of bed after a night of partying to eat breakfast with me before I drove all the way home. I’m also thankful for the yummy breakfast I ate while at yorgo’s. I’m grateful that the people who were working there didn’t get upset with me when I dropped my entire fruit cup on the floor. Yeah, I suck. I’m thankful that I actually ran into Stephan, one of my dearest friends, whom I did not see the entire time I was there. And on top of everything, I’m so glad we made it home safely.

grace number one hundred and seventy six
i've been pretty frustrated this week when it comes to money.
specifically money that i don't have yet, but i need to spend...
i'm driving my car from massachusetts to virginia tomorrow morning and today it is finally finished.
i am thoroughly lucky to have a brother who works in the auto body world. especially since i do not have the best of luck with cars. i get my parts discounted and i barely have to pay anything for labor.
the problem with this is that my stuff gets fixed when he has time to fix it. which is quite infuriating at times. especially when i try to be patient and need things done asap. anyway, while my brother was fixing my car, he found MULTIPLE BIG things which needed to be fixed. at one point the approximate COST (of parts, not labor) was well over a thousand dollars. yikes.
i mean, i am on my way to a vacation in which i am paying to stay at a hotel (i usually stay with friends in VA) and i have to get a present for the wedding i'm giong to... and i have bridesmaids stuff to do which is going to be costy once i get back from vaca.
umm, let me remind you folks. i'm pretty poor.
one thousand dollars isn't something i can just throw around.
anyway, back to the whole grateful thing...
my car is fixed.
and not only is it fixed, but we avoided two of the huge, expensive problems. i majorly lucked out.
my brother just took a little time to look at some things and realized i didn't need to buy new parts. i just needed to "clean up" or manipulate what i had. so one of the projects simply cost 20 dollars.... the parts i was going to have to buy (if it didn't get fixed like it did) was about 750 dollars.
UMM, holy crap that is a big difference.
so yeah, i am so glad i have my brother who is willing to help me do these things.
i am so happy that the problems i thought i had didn't exist.
and i am so glad i have transportation to virginia that i feel safe in.
