ola amigos,

today for grace in small things number 55, i would like to do a little explanation. i've noticed that i have a few new readers, and i want to explain all the acronyms, like GIST and nablopomo, etc.

because today i am most grateful for new readers!

yeah, so y'all who might be new to the blog must either think i am a ridiculously happy, grateful person or an extremely annoying ray of sunshine. either way- fine with me. but let me explain why i discuss what i am grateful for every day.

because of one of my best blog friends: EP, i joined a group called grace in small things. (check out ep's blog...she has stylish handwriting). basically grace in small things is "waging a battle against embitterment." i joined because i'm trying to be a very positive, thankful person.

but my motivations weren't all together that simple. i had a wild year in 2008, and since then i decided to step my life up a notch and basically throw myself into new experiences, and enjoy any moment possible. so, after blogging for a month or two, i stumbled across erik's blog. erik was challenging himself in a project called 101 in 1001. basically, he chose 101 "goals" that he wanted to complete in 1001 days (basically 2.75 years).

i thought that was the greatest idea to jump start me on my "new life." so basically, i decided to copycat him (i did ask permission if that makes any difference) and start my own 101 in 1001 list. so i did! and i love working on my list. i guess i am a list person. well, i always have been. i like to cross things off my lists, lol. and i also like to look at my list when i am bored and think, hmm. what can i do... AND THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD IDEAS!

so, because i'm so cool and i am SURE you want to check my list out...you can. right here: it is so creatively named "erin's 101 in 1001"

anyway- one of my goals on this list was to write down one thing i am grateful for every single day for one year. so, that being said, grace in small things (aka GIST- i'm too lazy to type that up every single day) helps me complete this goal!

nablopomo-well, i think that stands for national blog posting month. but i could be wrong. it happens every single november. last november was my first year taking part in this and it was challenging and fun at the same time. anyone involved in nablopomo can do the challenge every single month... its just that the really big month is nov. anyway. i tried to do it this past april (another item on my 101 list) but i failed miserably. yikes.

and finally: 20something bloggers. its probably where i "met" most of my great blogging friends. its sure as hell a group of wild and crazy 20 something year old people who are trying to find their way in the world! you can find me here at 20SB.

DANG! that was a lot of info. anyway, i did way too much explaining. however you found me, well welcome. i love new readers. feel free to leave me a comment with your site and i'll check you out. okay carpel tunnel syndrome kicking in.

ciao,
erin
