what's in a name?

today i am most grateful for baby names.

i think names are extremely important. maybe that is the writer in me. maybe it is the future mother in me. who knows. i think its more the writer, because i really scrutinize every single name i hear. and i get extremely upset if people have a name i don't think suits them. but whatever. here at my top names. and no, i'm absolutely not pregnant. just baby name dreaming.

1.emerson
2. addison
3. grace
4. cooper
5. esabella
6. benjamen

    Emerson is on the top of my girl list (I have it saved in my phone). And since we already have a dog named Gracie, that knocks Grace out. All the rest of those names were already taken by family or close friends! :)

    no fricken way! emerson has been my number one baby name since i was a freshman in high school and first read ralph waldo emerson. then i got a great friend whose last name was emerson (and everyone calls him emerson)in college, and he is still one of my closest friends.
    anyway. now it is especially my number one name. i think i like it better for a boy (maybe cause my college friend emerson is a boy?), but i would name my girl that too. i seriously hope i marry someone with a good last name. the only person i really considered having babies with had a nice name, but it DID NOT sound good with emerson and i was so sad! haha. thank goodness i'm never gonna make babies with him!!!
    i think it is amazing you like all those names! i honestly think we are the same exact person. so exciting! we're twins!

    Grace is one of my FAVORITE baby names. Unfortunately, my boy pointed out that it doesn't flow with his last name. (It starts with an S so the two names would run together.) Le sigh.

    It's fun thinking about baby names, though, even if you aren't pregnant! My boy does more thinking about them than I do.
