#128 grace style.
today i want to share with you the awesomeness of my jewelry art. (who knew...awesomeness is not a word. i've been saying it forever!)

hol helped me clean on tuesday and wednesday this week.

and let me tell you, things are moving along much quicker than i expected them to. i am so proud of myself (and obviously hol) and so damn excited about this "clean sweep" as we like to call it.

i really wish i would have done some before and after pictures so i could have shared with y'all.

i guess i can do some half-way point pictures so that you can see a "semi-before" and a completed project. i'll get on that.

but, what i want to show you today is my jewelry art. i actually started doing this after i saw one of my closest friends, and roommate at the time actual, do this to her own jewelry.

basically, i hang my jewelry up, so that i can simply look at my wall and figure out what to accessorize with. there are many ways to do it... you can organize by color, by type of jewelry (i.e. rings, necklaces, earrings, etc.) by which ever way your little heart desires.

and the biggest perk:
(besides the fact that you'll look like such a hottie, because you will actually wear all the cool jewelry you own rather than let it hibernate in a box)
(oh, and besides another perk of getting ready extra quickly in the morning because everything is organized and easy to grab)
is that it looks so damn cool. everyone who uses my bathroom always comments on how much they love my jewelry boards. i've even had people offer to pay me to create something like this for them.

(its so easy y'all it would be like highway robbery if i took your money. i'll just help for free!)

so, since i have the best cleaning help ever, i was finally able to clean up my jewelry boards (which we shameful and messy and bare)
and reorganize my accessories.

here is the bigger of the two jewelry boards:
and here is the "before" picture of my smaller board, followed by the "after" picture. cool, huh?

love, love, love it!

today i am grateful for my pretty ring which i always get complimented on.

i couldn't remember if i had already wrote about this in my gist posts...

then i decided, who cares if i did?

i'm grateful for it right now, and that is all that matters.

if i was grateful for it before, then good. the more gratitude the better. gratitude just creates even more gratitude. lets just multiply the things we are thankful for.

anyway,

i just got my nails done, so the manicure and the ring really looks quite gorgeous.

i bought it on this etsy shop if you want to check out some more amazing stuff.

this picture isn't from today.

i took it a little while ago, but i thought---if i am going to do a whole post about a ring, then i should probably showcase it.

so here it is for your permanent viewing pleasure.

grace number 46

today i am most grateful for the fact that I AM GOING ON A CRUISE!!!!!

i bet y'all didn't expect that one, huh?!
*picture borrowed from google images- not sure who i could credit as the photographer
my best friend amy had a cruise planned for may, but the person she was giong with is no longer able to attend....so, because i have been the bestie since kindersarten, guess who she asked to go with her?!?!?!?!? MEEEEEEE!!!!!!! i can't actually afford to go on the cruise, lol. i'm digging myself out of debt right now, and doing a GREAT job digging too. i've been very proud of how well i have been doing with my budget and debt digging. BUT after my horrendous year in 2008 i promised myself i would LIVE my life. i no longer want to be able to say "i wish i would have done that." from now i am doing whatever makes me happy. plus, i think i will be able to pay this off pretty quickly. amy has already paid for the whole cruise, so she said i can pay her back in small increments after the actual cruise (what a great best friend!!!!) and i'm trying to pay off the flight, hotel in miami, etc off before we set sail. AND i'm putting away as much cash as i can so that i won't need to take any money out of the bank for shopping. oh, i just cannot contain my excitement. i love life. i really feel like i am living! in may i will be going to haiti, jamaica, grand cayman and bahamas. in july i will be going camping with my best friends and rylo will be coming up north and i cannot wait to see my boys- especially my crush CM ooooohhhh lalalala, in august i will be (hopefully) heading to baltimore to watch the sox; in september i will be going to virginia for my quarter century birthday celebration and andrea and al's wedding. (i went to VA in january, too) do you think i could make it to georgia in october or november? will i have any more money???? so 2009 is a year of traveling for me :)
i'm not sure how 2010 will pan out in regards to traveling. i'm a bridesmaid in four weddings soon. trisha's in december of 2009, holly's in may of 2010 and sarah's in july of 2010. then i won't have a wedding until michaela's in the early summer of 2011.
maybe i can go to VA in march of 2010, or on a cruise or all inclusive vacation in september of 2010 and then georgia in november of 2010.
then in 2011 i can do virginia in the beginning of the year and do georgia in the summer and then big vacation in the late fall.
am i getting a little ahead of myself?????

Paying it forward from chris' coop.
This is how it works: Christine has won a handmade item from the blog site that she entered the game at. Now she is going to pay it forward by making something for three other people And I am a winner! WOO HOO! how cool is this? i'm going to post this now, and i then i am going back to work, because i have a lot to catch up on after my quick vacation. Remember, if you want to enter this contest, you are going to also have to post your own "pay it forward" contest and create something handmade for the three winners!

i'm changing it just a little bit to try to give everyone a chance. instead of picking the first three comments on the blog, i'm going to pick three comments regardless of what order they are in. i'm going to let this "pay it forward" contest last until friday, 2/6/08 until 4:30pm EST. Then I'll use a computer generated program to pull three numbers and whomever happens to leave that number comment will win. so everyone has a chance!

The Rules are quite simple:
1.Leave a comment on this post, where the first word in the comment is "Yes". By saying "Yes" as the first word, you signify you want to participate in this give away. Being one of the first three to say "Yes" will then entitle you to a handmade item from me.
2. Winners must post this challenge on their blog, meaning that they then must Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift for the first three bloggers who say "Yes" in a comment on THEIR future post.
3. The gift that you send to your three friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the spirit and the thought that count!
4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, and link back to the person you recieved your gift from!
don't forget to actually say YES!
ALSO- if you are a follower, let me know in your comment. then you will get two chances. if you re-post my "pay it forward" giveaway on your blog (and obviously tell me in the comment), then i will give you an extra chance. So, if you comment, you link this giveaway on your blog and you follow me, you can have a total of 3 chances. get it? good. now comment, follow and link!

wreckage

it is 4am and i'm a hot mess.

i'm sick. is it possible to share germs via email? because if so, i know which culprit got me sick ;)

i've been trying to post something, but i haven't because i can't figure out the answer to one of the questions. sometimes i waver between knowing exactly what i want and being indecisive. when i am sick, i lean more toward being as indecisive as possible. go figure.

so, i'll probably finish that post in the morning (umm, in a few hours), because my stomach is finally feeling calm enough to fall asleep.

i hate being sick. i think i've got a stomach flu and the workings of a sore throat.

i messed up big time. stealing saturdays rolled around, and i didn't post anything. i did however sit on my ass at work and find some new blogs i liked a whole lot. i just forgot to actually post anything from them!!! yikes. oh, well. as a quick shout out. i borrowed this from the 20SB page of my friend at goddess of everything...check her out. she's a good read.

Saturday, November 22, 2008

seeing as i sent a "my secret is out; i've got a blog email" yesterday, i guess it would be a good idea if i explain what stealing saturdays are. i've got the feeling y'all won't just head back to my original post on september 20th. so here goes:

i have a tendency to go read the blogs i follow and click aimlessly on blogs they follow, and then the ones those people follow, etc until i somehow get lost. i usually find quirky things i like, so i figured, why not either link my blog to their page, or just post the pictures on my blog. and this is how stealing saturdays has become a tradition. isn't it sweet to have a tradition that happens every single week.

(side note: i noticed today just how much i love tradition. i have the feeling you will be reading about this in tomorrow's post if your still pretending on being interested in what i've got to say)

so, every saturday, i do a little road trip around the world wide web in order to find something quirky that i want to share with you. here goes:

my favorite artist is jack vettriano. i stumbled on his work, and simply couldn't pick just one. i have a favorite. i own a few. but here is just a random selection.

above is my first vettriano print i'd ever seen, my first to own and still my favorite.

below are just randoms i like.

mood

i'm in a very interesting mood today. i don't really know quite how to describe it. part of me feels very motivated and the other part feels very blah. i also can't think of anything interesting to really put on this blog right now, so i guess i'll just use it as a tool to note my moods. haha.

here is the positive stuff first:
i'm doing an excellent job this year thinking of presents to buy my friends and family this holiday season. i am also doing an excellent job of being an online shopping detective in order to find great prices for my ideas. i love to buy gifts for the people i love. i mean, i really love it. i think i know exactly where ALL of my money goes: food and gifts for other people. no, honestly. i'm being sincere when i say that every penny goes to eating and drinking out, buying presents for people and then paying off the food and presents i put on my credit card. yeah, so because i am doing so excellent at my bargain shopping, i've decided to also donate to a charity for each of my family members and best friends. but i am going to pick charities which remind me of them and donate in their name. isn't that spectacular? one of my top three presents i have ever received in my life was the christmas of 2006. elizabeth and chris adopted me an alligator from the Audubon society for the year, because they know how much i am in love with alligators. that was amazing. i loved it. best present, and i am still so thankful for it. so hopefully, i find some really good causes.

i'm also in a great mood because i got my first christmas card. from one of my clients. i'm so grateful for them.

reasons why i am in a negative mood:
i'm stressed out with work. i've been working seven days a week for a while now. i took almost 2 weeks off for my vacation in georgia, my birthday weekend, and amy's birthday off. (but that is it since the beginning of july) i'm not stressed because i work every day. i just feel like nothing i can do is good enough at work lately. i've got so much to complete and not enough time or available tools to get it done during the week. then now, at my weekend job, i just agreed to pick up a client and start a caseload. (why? who knows. maybe i was in the holiday spirit, but i know i sure as hell am not getting a raise for it.) i know it won't be too much work, its just that believe it or not, i come here to relax. and now i need to make sure that i'm helping another being get the best care possible. if i do my job, i want to do it well.

and i also watched "life as a house" today at work. it made me depressed. its such a beautiful movie, but i'm in a sensitive mood about death, cancer, family and misunderstandings today. probably because i watched the movie and it got me thinking about all of those subjects. but its making me feel very mellow right now.
i need to snap out of this blahness and do something i enjoy.
unfortunately, the only thing i can think to do when i get out of work is laundry and cleaning my apartment. i live such a wild life for a single girl in her twenties!
there was a gas spill on the highway on my way to work, and from what i understand, the highway is still shut down. if that's still the case when i get out of here, then i am going to home goods to do some christmas shopping for myself. my mom keeps asking me what i want, and i've decided instead of giving her an idea for a practical gift, i am going to spoil myself this year. i want a fancy painting or mirror or globe or something fun and funky i can decorate with. oh home goods makes me feel damn good. since i don't do drugs, places like home goods and world market give me a serious high. i don't understand why people use drugs if they could just go shopping for decorations.
anyway, little erin out. and like i would say to one of my clients: "it was nice doing business with you."

and because i am such a tease at heart, here is another taste of what you'll soon be reading about...

this is just simply wonderful, in my opinion. its one of my absolute favorite poems in such a random arrangement, but it still looks so beautiful. its funny: i'm a very grateful person. so many times i think of how thankful i am for the most random of things, but i make the mistake of not keeping track of all the things which make me happy. also, i don't share these things with others, so here you go. not only do you get to enjoy my favorite poem, but you get some cute artwork as well. i'm gonna have to thank c jane for posting this on her blog to share with the rest of us.
